Models in Motion
Seven Fridays on finding ways of being creative with video and image models. Not photorealism, not prompt writing: widening what these machines can be used for.
The class starts from rompecabezas: one film script, hundreds of takes of the same shots made with LTX 2.5, cut a few frames at a time. Then TREN, where the takes become an instrument.
Start here
- Install the kit on a Windows computer with an NVIDIA GPU (16 GB or more).
- Read the tools: short scripts you run on your takes, and that a chat can rewrite into new ones.
- Each Friday has a page with the steps and what to bring next time.
Seven Fridays, searching
Three columns
Language. The words between you and the machines. A name for what you do. Metaphor, other languages, the machine that prompts the machine.
Abundance. Ask the machine only for what is impossible, too difficult or too boring for a person: thirteen takes identical except for how something moves; five hundred two-frame cuts; every frame redrawn.
Pulse. Patterns, rhythms, loops. Where things happen in time: a Fibonacci curve, a tresillo, a crab walk.
Your page
Everyone brings one page of text they love, in any language. Everything you make starts from that page, and at the end it comes back, moving around your videos. You will not write prompts by hand: you give your page to a chat, and the chat translates it into each model's dialect.
Rules
- Synthetic media only. No real people. Your camera can give the machine a starting point, never the picture itself.
- The chat writes, the machine plays. No agents this semester: Claude or ChatGPT in the browser write the prompts and the scripts; the lab computer runs them. You carry the text from one to the other. You are the loop.
- The pulse never moves. When we cut to a rhythm, the rhythm holds.
- Everything is recorded. Every video carries the workflow that made it; every cut carries the recipe that made it.
- Keep detalles. A running note of the accidents, mistranslations and names that opened a door.
The final
Your tool: a new operation, something the machine does to the picture that no person would do by hand. You invent it, name it, and build it with a chat. Your study: a page where your text flows around the videos your tool made. The tool is the idea; the study is the proof that it opens something.
